About

Meet the therapist.

Hasan Moody is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Hunter College graduate originally from East Harlem and still currently located in New York. He is experienced working with adolescents, young adults, and middle adulthood. On a personal note, He is also person of faith, a husband, and a father, all of which fuel his passion for helping others. Hasan views therapy as a partnership between therapist and client. Modalities and approaches to care include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT,) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy (NT.) Hasan is strengths- based in his approach and is intentional to never pathologize clients, regardless of diagnosis. Rapport and trust are integral in a successful therapeutic relationship, and this will be at the center of your work with Hasan. Hasan is international with cultivating an authentic and meaningful space conducive to achievement of his client’s goals. Hasan is credentialed to work with clients in the states of New York and Massachusetts. Currently Hasan is only meeting with clients virtually. He offers free 15 minute consultation calls so both parties can learn more about the other, before committing to therapy.

Faith and care

Their approach to faith.

While Hasan is a secularly trained clinician who comfortably and effectively works with believing and non- believing clients alike, on a personal level he identifies as a follower of Christ. His faith is integral in his life and how he engages others. For clients who also identify as Christians, Hasan is intentional to pull from this belief system in the work whenever appropriate to address issues that are leading to negative thoughts or emotions, and to find healthy solutions to problems. Think of the experience as traditional therapy where the indescribable strength that is your faith can live and be present to the extent that you are comfortable. This would not be a replacement for formal faith- based or pastoral counseling, but a complement.
