Jataya Wright is comfortable working with a client whose faith is important to them. The Clinician’s intake process includes questions regarding potential client’s faith, religion, or spirituality. The Clinician identifies as a Baptist who is slightly active in their faith tradition and is slightly comfortable sharing their own spiritual beliefs in sessions to assist in the therapeutic process as appropriate. The Clinician is open to incorporating holistic practices in therapy sessions with client's consent or request including mindfulness and scripture.
“My faith allows me to see beyond the presenting issue or person in front of me seeking treatment and the greater power they have in them to work through any issue they are facing. It allows me to encourage clients to try their best even when they do not feel they have anything to offer. I believe that every client has the ability to improve their life and get past any issue they are facing because something lead them to seek therapy and not just allow the issue to fester.”
